MyGamez announces strategic cooperation with Small Giant Games and completion of new financing round.
HELSINKI / SHANGHAI, May 21st, 2020 - Chinese mobile games publishing services provider MyGamez Ltd today announced a strategic cooperation with Small Giant Games Ltd, the Zynga owned studio behind the mobile hit franchise “Empires & Puzzles”.
MyGamez will distribute the Android version of “Empires & Puzzles” as well as provide other publishing services in China to Small Giant Games.
MyGamez simultaneously completed a new investment round which joined by the Finnish game publisher Fingersoft, makers of Hill Climb Racing, Small Giant Games, MyGamez seed investors Visionplus and Yellowbell, ex-Rovio Peter Vesterbacka and other angel investors.
“We are extremely excited to have Small Giant Games and Fingersoft as customers and as investors. This shows we have succeeded in building a service offering and business model that is attractive for the top global publishers like Small Giant Games. With the investment, we can now focus on further developing our service offering and helping many more western games to succeed in China with our novel, light weight approach,” said MyGamez CEO Mikael Leinonen.
MyGamez will continue to operate as a fully independent company, serving publishers globally without any exclusivity or limitations. Representatives of Fingersoft and Small Giant Games will join the MyGamez board, with Fingersoft’s Pasi Jokinen as the Chairman.
Leinonen continues: “Our service offering enables our customers to take a long-term approach in China without heavy upfront investments and steep learning costs. Our customers retain operational control of their games and can scale user acquisition flexibly on both iOS and Android platforms, which is really important for leading mobile game publishers”.
Today’s announcement of the investment follows the recent pivot by MyGamez from its previous China publisher business model into becoming a turn-key China service provider for leading foreign mobile games publishers.
The company’s new fully transparent and lightweight services are ideal for publishers looking to realise their full growth potential in China and build a long term presence in the world’s largest market. Publishers can pick and choose the services they need and receive substantially higher upsides compared to conventional China publishing business models.
